Conor McGregor vs. Chad Mendes in the main event of UFC 189

Conor McGregor will face Chad Mendes in the main event of UFC 189 after featherweight champion Jose Aldo officially announce his withdrawal due to a rib injury on Tuesday.

Mendes is the former two-time title contender to challenge Irishman McGregor for the interim featherweight title on July 11 in Las Vegas.
