The long speculation and debate to UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo capability of competing at UFC 189 is over! Now, Jose Aldo is out and Chad Mendes will face Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 189 live pay-per-view (PPV) event on July 11th.

UFC President Dana White made the breaking announcement on the 8 PM ET edition of ESPN's SportsCenter.



This is quite a devastating blow to thousand mixed martial arts fans wanting to see the pound for pound king on his toughest challenge of his career. Ultimately, Aldo's medical conditions stated that he still too hurt to made the defense of his belt in less than two weeks and decided to withdraw from the event.

The main event at UFC 189 is Conor Mcgregor versus Chad Mendes for the interim featherweight title. The winner will then face Aldo to unify the belts. Conor predicted a 1st round TKO of the two-time title opponent.
